One of the really fun things about dogs is their dizzying variety. Look at a basset hound, a Chihuahua, a Great Dane, and a poodle. They don’t look like they belong to the same species! And even within the same breed, no two creatures are identical. That German shepherd over there who’s been raised as a devotedly serious police dog has a very different personality than the one over there who grew-up among children and loves his squeaky toys. Because each dog is very different, each one has different needs. Some are content to lounge around the house all day, only moving when their sunbeam does, while others are bursting with energy and you just can’t take them for enough walks.
