Life is busy. The list of small tasks we need to get done seems never-ending, and when you’re already dealing with the big things like work, kids, socializing, family and exercise, there doesn’t seem time for the multitude of small tasks that are important, but never seem to get done easily.
Tasks such as a gift for a friend who’s done you a favour, taking your shoes in to be re-soled, buying new stationary, returning library books, and getting that pile of cardboard to the recycling station. These tasks should be done. We’ll feel better when they’re done, but it really is hard to find the time and motivation to do them, once we’ve taken care of the big things.
Tips for Handling those Fall Errands
- Assign a day when you do them all at once. Make a list, schedule in the time, and get em’ done. You’ll feel good ticking them off as you go.
- Bring a friend! Doing these chores with someone you like can make them much more enjoyable.
- Reward yourself. Once you’ve ticked off the final item, do something fun. Go for lunch, coffee, or see a movie. You deserve it.
